ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marshall DuBock has always been fascinated by the inimitable history, personality, and grace of Nantucket Island. He began his art training in junior high school and was only eighteen years old when he presented his first one-man show at the Lobster Pot Gallery. This show, along with each subsequent show, sold out.
DuBock continued his art education at the Portland School of Fine and Applied Art and in Florence, Italy. Throughout the years, he has carefully developed a realistic watercolor style that distinguishes him as one of Nantucket Island's most beloved artists. He opened Nantucket Gallery in 1979 at its first location on 23 Federal Street, which offers original watercolors and signed, limited-edition prints. Nantucket Gallery moved to a new location in 2009 and the current address is listed below.
A year-round resident of Nantucket, the artist continues to combine current visual impressions with years of memories abetted by his extensive knowledge of Island history. As a result, he captures the very spirit of Nantucket in his watercolor paintings, which are known, collected, and loved all over the country and around the world.
All prints are signed and numbered by the artist in a limited edition of 750 prints and are printed on high quality watercolor paper under the direct supervision of the artist.
